Summary

IT Product Manager

IT Product Manager manages companywide software products throughout the product lifecycle. This manager will collaborate with business stakeholders to define the vision and scope of the product, develop a roadmap, and identify key measures of success. The IT Product Manager will serve in a cross-functional role, executing project management, and leading the execution and delivery of IT projects. The Product Manager will also be responsible for the design of complex transformational strategies and maximizing the business value of software products, and managing major systems and platforms.

IT Product Manager Job Responsibilities

Collaborate with business stakeholders to define product scope and goals.

Lead efforts to gather and translate business requirements into system specifications.

Gain a deep understanding of business processes, use cases, and data needs of stakeholders.

Define product roadmap, including features/milestones for major and minor releases.

Evaluate and streamline the suitability of various platforms and technologies.

Managing major systems and platforms

Perform project planning and sizing activities, identify resource requirements, and overseeing a team capable of producing specified deliverables.

Identify and communicate major milestones and risks to achieving those milestones in a positive manner.

Work with IT Leadership to develop product portfolios for IT Service offerings in CRM, BI and Software Development. Develop a strategy for the implementation and rollout of these service offerings.

IT Product Manager Education & Experience

Must have an undergraduate degree in business, management information systems, computer science or equivalent job-related experience. PMI Certification is desired but not required.

5+ years of experience in in project management of varied complexities and scope.

IT Product Manager Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment.

Ability to work effectively with management.

Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically.

Flexible and adaptable, able to change and alter according to changes in projects or business environment.

Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project) or similar project tool(s).

Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers.

E/R modeling experience using tools such as ERWin, PowerDesigner, ERStudio.

Position Summary

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Product Management

Collaborate with business stakeholders to define product scope and goals.


Lead efforts to gather and translate business requirements into system specifications.

Gain a deep understanding of business processes, use cases, and data needs of stakeholders.


Define product roadmap, including features/milestones for major and minor releases.


Partner with Executive Stakeholders to build consensus.


Evaluate the suitability of various platforms and technologies, suggest alternative approaches and recommend technical solutions, methodologies or strategies.


Managing major systems and platforms

Work with IT Leadership to develop productportfolios for IT Service offerings in CRM, BI and Software Development. Develop a strategy for the implementation and rollout of these service offerings.

Strategic Planning

Work with IT Leadership to develop product portfolios for IT Service offerings in CRM, BI and Software Development. Develop a strategy for the implementation and rollout of these service offerings.

Utilize a wide array of analytical and design tools to understand and address the needs of the enterprise (running workshops, stakeholder interviews, secondary research, working with specialists).

Network and collaborate with business units in the company to assess IT needs across the various business units and identify strategic opportunities to consolidate systems and capabilities.

Consult with business units to understand current business processes and provide recommendations on how to leverage technology to streamline processes.

Minimum Qualifications


Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
