Essential Job Functions:
Installs, activates, and maintains Market Center Headend complex, or National Data Center equipment and systems. Performs critical management of Content Operations projects. Also provides training and leadership expertise for Associate Engineers.
Job Requirements:
Installation, activation and maintenance of a Market Center Headend complex, or National Data Center. Duties include installation and maintenance of transmission lines, TVRO systems, off-air antennas, EAS systems, CDN equipment, and other signal reception equipment. Applies code upgrades, and configures digital signal processing equipment. Conducts head-end calibration checks, and FCC performance tests on all required head end equipment. Requires ' on call ' or non-standard shift duties. Performs internal project management - documents local project requirements, including scope, costs, schedule, testing and terms of delivery to ensure project is accurately completed on time, and within budget. Mentors and trains other Onsite Engineering personnel in key elements of networking systems, and provides technical presentations to instruct co-workers and other production services support individuals. Tests and validates all new hardware and connections for proper configuration and performance, in accordance with designed specifications, using MPEG Analyzers, meters, probes and other appropriate test equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs production systems, as required. Creates As-Built documentation following project completion. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience with digital video processing systems, IP routing, Linux based servers, and Transport and Communications are all expected. Effective written and oral communications skills a must. Superior computer operating skills a must. Effective troubleshooting skills.
Education & Experience
Associate ' s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Equivalent experience of Associate Engineer for a minimum of 12 months.
