The finance intern position involves problem solving and decision making. Problems are varied with no clear guidelines for solution. Generally, research and analysis must be performed to determine an appropriate course of action. Decision making guidelines are available in the form of broad precedent, related practices and general methods. Decisions require a high level of judgment and /or modification of a standard course of action to address the issues and tasks.
The intern will have contact with management at several levels and related departments. He or she will report to a manager within the finance group, will receive training on responsibilites, and will have goals to attain. The Finance Intern will have no supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Financial reporting,
- Compile and analyze data
- Produce spreadsheet and reports from available databases/reports
- Cost, Lease versus Buy, and Profitability Analyses:
- Audit results of business plan
Academic Preparation and Relevant Experience
Must be a junior or senior working towards undergraduate degree in accounting or finance and be self-motivated and willing to learn. Knowledge of MS Office is essential. Must also possess a high level of professionalism and above average presentation skills.
