 at Universal Orlando are responsible for:

  • Set up and break down stanchions, ropes, and barricades to appropriately configure the length of the queue on a nightly basis. 
  • Maintain efficient through put of assigned Haunted Houses or Shows by efficiently loading and unloading guests.
  • Assist guests while in a venue or show by providing direction, enforcing restrictions, monitoring crowds, performing crowd control duties and addressing safety concerns.
  • Ensure safe behavior of guests, Scare-Actors and Entertainers in conjunction with the Entertainment Coordinators and Stage Managers.
  • Provide over-the-top service by engaging the guest and evoking the theme or story-line of the assigned area.
  • Enthusiastically greet and welcome guests and engage in positive, polite and friendly manner when monitoring the queue area and providing direction or safety instructions.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



To perform the role of an  successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • High school degree or GED is preferred.
  • 1 year operational experience preferred, specifically a Theme Park Attraction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be comfortable working in confined spaces and dark or low-lit areas; comfortable working around strobe effects and fog machines; comfortable working in loud environments that include but are not limited to sound effects and music which are themed to the attraction or haunted house.
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to vibrations.
  • Must be available during Event Nights (Wednesday through Sunday and outside of normal business hours. Availability on all Event Nights is preferred.


The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the  job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly (2/3 or more of time) required to stand for prolonged periods; walk for prolonged periods (including ability to walk at a given pace that is predetermined by a moving sidewalk); talk; hear audible alarms, voice commands with background noise; use close and distance vision with or without corrective lens; maintain alertness and attentiveness up to 4 hours while working varying hours; maintain concentration/focus; work in small or tight spaces.
  • The individual must regularly use hands and fingers to grip, pinch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; use repeating motions more than twice per minute; lift and/or push up to 50-75lbs with control; adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus while in changing light conditions); work in an environment with flashing lights including strobe lamps.
  • The individual must occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) sit for prolonged periods; climb stairs/ladders; ability to work at heights for prolonged periods of time including heights with or without railings or over open pits greater than 4ft; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; reach, pull, push with hands above or below head; use repetition input devices in a steady manner; use peripheral vision and depth perception; smell.


The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the  job.

  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) work in outdoor weather conditions to include direct sunlight, heat or cold; work in extreme cold (non-weather); work in extreme heat (non-weather).
  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) work in wet, humid conditions (non-weather); be exposed to loud noise (noise when raised conversation is needed).
  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) be exposed to Bodily Fluids (i.e. blood, vomit).
