The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Sr QA Analyst for our CCS Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary
A dedicated Sr QA Analyst to support all quality assurance related activities of an end-to-end DW&BI solution.
Essential Job Functions:
- 7 to 10 years QA Experience
- Create test strategies at the outset of large-scale data warehouse projects
- Develop test plans, test cases and SQL test scripts for all necessary projects and application releases which cover data movement from the source systems, through the ETL/ELT processes to the end-user applications and presentation layers
- Create and modify UNIX scripts for automation and integration testing
- Perform execution of test cases and scripts
- Defect tracking
- Actively participate in design, data model, code reviews and QA peer reviews
- Perform in-depth data validation and analysis using complex SQL code and mappings
- Review and approve key deliverables produced as part of the analysis and design phases of any project
(ex. functional requirements, technical requirements, ETL design documents, report layouts, etc.)
- Review test cases (functional testing, system integration testing, business logic testing, regression testing) for all enhancements and production fixes
- Regular reporting on QA status of on-going and planned initiatives
Job Requirements:
- Experience creating/managing test plans for large efforts
- Ability to design and develop test cases
- Experience with automated and manual software testing processes/tools
- Experience in the implementation and support of complex, mission critical data warehouse applications ensuring that adequate testing is completed within committed timeframes
- Excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work as a member of a project team in a fast-paced environment
- Self directed and demonstrated strong leadership, ownership and coordination skills
- Experience interpreting source to target mappings
- 4+ years of experience with software quality assurance experience
- 4+ years of experience with testing in a data warehouse and enterprise reporting environment
- Demonstrated experience in an ETL/ELT focus data warehouse test role on previous projects
- 7+ years of experience with data validation and analysis
- 4+ years of experience with Oracle/Netezza
- 7+ years of experience with UNIX and shell script development
- 7+ years of experience with ETL tools.
- 7+ years of data warehousing knowledge, business intelligence and technical experience
- 7+ years of experience developing complex SQL queries to validate data
- 5+ years of experience with scheduling tool
Preferred Qualifications:
- ICOMS and CSG billing system knowledge
- Experience with UNIX, Netezza and MicroStrategy.
