About this job
Job Description:
-Determine Inspection procedure to ensure complete verification of specifications and dimensions.
-Obtain necessary fixtures, gauges, indicators, and any other required measuring instrument to check machine parts for compliance with specifications, within prescribed tolerances.
-Follow and complete control plan during the inspection process.
-Inspect Set-ups and mid-run parts on DEA CMM.
-Schedule inspections according to inspection request times.
-Design inspection procedure/setups for each machining operation to follow control plans.
-Perform efficient inspections using Faro Arms, DEA, micrometers, calipers, gauges, and profilometers.
-Perform efficient mid-run inspections on pre-determined intervals.
-Write upcoming program inspections while working off line.
-Make necessary program modifications to ensure programs are up to date.
-Keep accurate records of inspections performed.
-Set-Up Gauge Tables.
-Maintain certification checks according to scheduled intervals.
-Perform efficient certifications.
-Keep gauges in good working condition.
-Enter certification results accurately into ERP system.
Work Environment:
-Climate controlled, relatively clean
Shift: Monday-Thursday 7:30 PM – 6AM
50% production floor
50% Quality lab
The inspection equipment includes:
-DEA and Numerex CNC Coordinate Measuring Machines
-Surface Plates, Digital Height Gages, Inspection Microscope
-Hardness Tester, Surface Finish Analyzer, Optical Comparators
-Micrometers, Calipers, Gage Pins, Balls and Blocks and Bore Gages
Qualifications:
-Must have at least 1 year in a quality role within manufacturing
-Must know micrometers and calipers, using on a daily basis
-Candidate will be helping to run the quality department, they need to be familiar with CMM, but do not have to be able to program it
-Candidate will be working with blueprints, diagnosing quality issues, and coming up with solutions
-Great vision: demands include close vision to inspect parts and read various measuring instruments.
