Aerotek has partner with a great manufacturing company that is seeking a Buyer/Purchaser for their Marion, SC location. This is a direct placement opportunity and is an immediate need. This position will assist with relocation as well!
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree is require (preferred in Business or related degree)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing facility
- Thoroughly experienced in negotiation of purchase orders to include terms and conditions, freight, expedite fees, and contracts.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, assertive.
- Detail oriented and ability to manage numerous activities at one time.
- Must be able to interpret blueprints and engineering/quality specifications.
- Experienced in international import and export transactions and Incoterms
- Proficient in Internet, Database Management and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work well with all levels of employees from entry-level to upper management, both internal and external.
- Ability to review and negotiate contracts for a variety of products and services to obtain the most advantageous cost of ownership for the company.
- Excellent computer, word processing, and data processing skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Investigate and develop new sources for suppliers ensuring highest possible return on every dollar spent in procurement.
- Coordinate and obtain cost savings and avoid cost overruns.
- Solicit and analyze quotations
- Develop sources and establish relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
- Coordinate with engineering and production staff to edit and clarify purchase requisitions.
- Communicate complex specifications to potential suppliers and coordinate exceptions to engineering and production staff.
- Arrange and conduct supplier surveys and develop and manage supplier performance evaluation program.
- Perform value analysis to meet company goals.
- Create, coordinate and implement company procurement policies and procedures.
