Description

DISH's Manufacturing team ensures the high quality condition of millions of satellite receivers and remote controls. State-of-the-art facilities in El Paso, TX, Spartanburg, SC, and Englewood, CO, use advanced diagnostic tools and automated equipment to test, refurbish and redistribute hardware to customers.

The Engineering Technician t ests and modifies developmental or operational products as a member of DISH's Test Engineering team.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or at least 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Written and spoken English communication skills required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Self-motivated
  • Works with some supervision on multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in organizational and time management skills to complete multiple projects, tasks, deadlines.
  • Flexible in working with a project-oriented group.
  • Ability to provide solutions from rough concepts.
Responsibilities
  • Interfaces with on-site and off-site engineers to perform tests to provide meaningful data.
  • Generates test reports and presents findings/recommendations based on those results.
  • Assembles and tests experimental electrical equipment and components according to engineering specifications.
  • Modifies electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under the direction of an engineer.
  • Diagnoses the cause of electrical/mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Installs through-hole and surface-mount components in proper orientation and inspects completed boards for loading faults.
  • Maintains tools and test equipment in good working order.
  • Overtime is mandatory based on business needs; must be flexible.
