Pediatric Intensive Care - PICU Nurse - (PICU RN)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 D/N Pay Rate: $46.00 - 50.00

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 yrs. of experience in high acuity PICU - no exceptions!
- BLS (AHA) and PALS
- Cardiac, Ventilator, Computerized Charting experience required
- Previous travel experience required - no first time travelers!


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- TNCC, High frequency Vents/Oscillators, Nitric Oxide, Dialysis, Swans(very infrequent use), ECMO, IV Insertion (preferred)

START DATE: 7/7 and 7/21 are next orientation dates

SHIFT: 12 D/N rotation, will work shift for 4 weeks then rotate, weekends EOW - candidates must be willing to work rotating shift.

ADDITIONAL UNIT INFO:
- 24 bed unit
- Patient Population: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults,
- 16 average daily census
- NP Ratio: 1:2
- Trauma, transplant - liver and kidney, Hem/Onc sepsis, neurosurgery, respiratory failure
- Medications: Basic vasopressors/inotropes and meds for transplants
- Floating required once every other week to: CVICU and Acute Care flex role, IICU on 3West
- Dress Code: scrubs


The pediatric intensive care nurse (PICU RN) provides cares for children and adolescents, usually up to the age of 18, with life-threatening or high-acuity conditions that require constant monitoring. Working in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), a high-tech children’s services area for critically ill, medically complex, and/or post-surgical patients, the pediatric intensive care RN collaborates with families, physicians, and other healthcare officials to determine the best course of patient care and recovery.

Required Qualifications
- 2 yrs. of experience in high acuity PICU - no exceptions!
- BLS (AHA) and PALS
