Positions in this function are responsible for providing counseling telephonically for behavioral health and employee assistance services. Includes assessment and triage, short-term problem resolution, and referrals.
This position is Onsite daily in our Philadelphia, PA office. The hours are Monday – Friday, 8 Hour shift, between 8am and 6pm. 8-4:30, 8:30-5, 9-5:30, or 9:30-6.
OptumHealth is currently seeking an EAP Counselor in Philadelphia, PA. The EAP Counselor's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conducting telephonic assessments and counseling
Responding to crisis calls
Determining member eligibility and benefit coverage
Providing referrals and/or community resources as appropriate for life-work, psychiatric and/or chemical dependency issues
Handling after care monitoring (following up with employees and/or providers to ascertain the safety of employees, continuation of treatment, etc.)
Acting as a point of contact on EAP matters both for internal (on site) and external (members) customers
Explaining benefit coverage to members and providers
Requirements
Requirements:
Licensed Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or -Family Counseling, or Licensed Ph.D., or an RN with 2 or more years of experience in behavioral health. Licenses must be active and unrestricted
Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in a clinical setting
Intermediate Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Internet skills
Additional Preferred Assets:
Ability to build rapport, assess and address risk, and develop goals with members in a telephonic setting
Ability to work flexibly and creatively with other professional team members
Bilingual (Fluent in English and Spanish)
Crisis Management background
Inpatient experience
Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse
Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients
