You will create queries and datasets to perform analysis on membership, coordination of benefits and claims data. You will then work with Business Analysts to create algorithms designed to detect members with Medicare and/or other Commercial insurance, and to realize cost savings for our new and existing clients. Primary job responsibilities include:


• Create algorithms to data mine member, claims and COB data


• Design repeatable SAS code that can be automated to run on a set schedule


• Perform proof of concept analyses


• Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them


• Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues


• Investigate and responds to routine or standard requests


• Work on process improvement opportunities


• Solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions


• Review work performed by others and provide recommendations for improvement


• May lead functional or segment teams or projects


• Provide explanations and information to others on the most complex issues


• Motivate and inspire other team members

Requirements

Required:


• Undergraduate degree or relevant equivalent experience


• Experience assessing business requirements documents 


• 2+ years of data analysis experience


• Minimum of 3 years of SQL or SAS programming. SAS is preferred.


• Proficient with MS Excel


• Ability to work projects from inception to completion


• Self-driven, ability to work independently and facilitate change


• Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Ability to maintain understanding of numerous client processes


• Detail oriented


• Possess excellent time management and prioritization skills in order to meet multiple deadlines; comfortable working in a high-paced/high production area


Preferred:


• Experience in the health care industry analyzing claims and member data


• Coordination of Benefits (COB) experience
