Maintenance Mechanic A performs tool work and plans mechanical updates on plant equipment, troubleshoots plant equipment, and keeps up with assigned work orders. This is a 2ND shift position in Grand Haven,MI. It can pay up to $17 per hour. Troubleshoot machinery. Plans mechanical layouts for updates on machinery and follows projects through to completion. Recognize and report safety hazards on equipment and initiates corrective actions. Design and install simple air and fluid system modifications and update prints (where applicable). Provide training for other maintenance personnel. Follow lockout tag out procedures and safety rules in the plant. Handle and label hazardous and non-hazardous chemical containers properly. Maintain good housekeeping in the work area. Calibrate system and machine controllers, perform preventive maintenance on all equipment, and perform other tasks assigned by designated supervisor. Install ,program and repair automated machinery and equipment. High School Diploma or GED required. Advanced training of two to four years on Industrial Maintenance experience preferred. Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic prints. Knowledge of plant operations. Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of lower maintenance classifications. Ability to obtain hi-lo license and operate hi-lo safely. Knowledge of proper purchasing procedures. Lifting as needed up to 100lbs. Frequent bending, twisting, and couching. Ability to work safely at heights exceeding 6 feet.
