Manpower is currently seeking a 1st Shift (6 am-2:30 pm) Consumable Machinist.
Qualified candidates MUST:
-Attach a resume with updated contact information
-Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
-Under-go a full background check & drug screen
Major Function: Hourly position; setting up and operating automatic and manual multiple-operation machines to perform any or all of the following functions: cutting, pressing, winding, grinding, chopping and de-greasing.
Position Responsibilities and Authorities:
-Manufacture product according to work orders and work instructions, following engineering drawings and documents.
-Perform record keeping functions and complete labor and inventory reports.
-Must be able to setup and use all machinery and equipment in area of responsibility.
-Expedite own production parts.
-May requisition material needed for their own area of responsibility.
-May move materials from stock and hold areas.
-May perform basic computer functions on the main frame.
-May perform training duties.
-Become familiar with and follow the documented procedures in D-20 Quality system.
-Make production and quality improvement suggestions.
-Perform other duties, as directed.
Working Conditions and Hazards:
-Occasional heavy lifting may be required.
-May be required to work with compressed gases.
Work environment: May be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, chemicals and elevated temperatures.
Machinery Used: Copper chopper, drill press, lathe, rotary press, hydraulic press, vapor degreaser, Torin spring makers, LMC impact cutter, punch press, swing grinder, belt sander, cut-off machines, grinder and others as necessary.
Equipment Used: Micrometers, calipers, various hand and bench tools and a lift truck.
Position Requirements:
-Must be able to follow engineering drawings and documents.
-Must be able to read calipers.
-Basic math skills.
-Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
-Possess visual acuity.
-Lift truck license.
-Right-to-Know class.
-Basic Quality Skills class.
-Respirator Training.
