About this job
An established company located in El Monte is looking for an experienced payroll specialist. The job duties will include compiling and computing payroll data such as hours worked; bonuses and commissions; monies to be withheld from taxes; employee contributions to retirement plans and insurance premiums and other records such as garnishments, direct deposits, and W-4 changes.
-Poll electronic time clock and reviews the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
-Contact managers regarding any unapproved time cards or issues.
-Record and issue adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.
-Prepare and issues paychecks.
-Build periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
-Prepare/file all hiring and termination paperwork.
-Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, in order to maintain and update payroll records.
-Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters and, tax issues.
-Complete requests for V.O.E., Garnishments, and Court orders.
-Keep abreast of changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.
