About this job
Looking for a quality inspector who will review orders to determine type of test requests, test procedures to follow and part acceptability criteria. Applies agents, such as cleaners, penetrants, and developers and light oil which acts as medium to parts or heats parts in oven, to prepare parts for testing. Determine test equipment settings and appropriate material according to specifications, type of metal, thickness, distance from test equipment, and related variables using standard formulas. Operate test equipment such as magnetic particle and penetrant machines to standard settings following manual instructions. Through testing, will identify cracks or other defects using black lights. Mark tested parts to indicate defective areas. Evaluate test results against standards utilizing knowledge of metals and procedures. Will review customer purchase orders and shippers, shop job travelers, process sheets and follow written instructions. Keep clean work area and communicate with others.
MUST HAVES: able to take direction, inspection experience, open to other shop work other than inspection, basic math, use 4-function calculator, counting skills, attention to detail, ability to learn quickly, manufacturing or shop experience, attitude and dedication, will be ON their FEET all day long, will lift up to 25lbs. Random Alcohol and drug testing once direct. Vision needs to be very strong. Any understanding of Aerospace industry inspection is huge but not a requirement, any QS400 or ISO level experience, any armed forces exp is a plus, precision machine shop experience is nice.
