Our client is a national General Contractor focusing mainly on construction with 14 subsidiaries. Our Client handles the metal roofing division, focusing on large commercial projects, no residential. (schools, municipality, military are some big ones).
They do retrofit and new construction- BUT they just provide the material and make sure it arrives they do not actually install. The engineers will provide designs and step by step to a contractor for installing.
The Project Manager will be responsible for assisting customers and salesmen with all facets of their roofing and/or cladding metal. Communication of all types of data and information with salesmen, contractors, engineers and architects will be common on a daily basis. This type of information includes but is not limited to product details, capabilities, application techniques, approvals, delivery information and competitive information. The successful candidate must display a history of a strong work ethic with willingness to do whatever it takes to support our customer base.
The project managers really work as an extension of the organization to streamline the procurement and delivery of materials with value-added services, such as field staging of orders, help us accommodate even the most aggressive installation schedules.
They communicate with sales people who are out selling the roofing product and help with technical information and application so they really need to understand metal roofing and how to communicate that to someone entry level and too experts. The sales team varies on personality and level of understanding so they need to adapt and be able to communicate to all.
