Utilization review nurses assist in reviewing patient services in regards to medical necessity and the appropriate use of resources. As a critical member of the hospital staff, the utilization review nurse is also responsible for:

• Maintaining current patient information
• Researching and identifying utilization trends or practices
• Enforcing clinical standards of care One of the most crucial roles of the utilization review nurse is to ensure that the needs of the patient, the healthcare provider, and the insurance company are all being satisfied.
  
  Required Qualifications
  2 recent (within 1 year) travel assignments or the equivalent of 1 year exp
  MI lic in hand
  2 refs from Managers and above. NO Charge Nurse refs accepted
  Gaps in employment must be explained
  Large facility experience
