About this job

Responsible for direct management of the technical infrastructure and support functions to ensure a reliable and stable environment supporting business computing. Leads and actively engages with engineering team to provide top tier networking services to internal and external clients. Duties consist of all aspects supporting the configuration, implementation and maintenance of Microsoft, SAN and VM Ware ESX infrastructures. Manages the IT Support Desk function and staff. Responsible for desktop hardware and peripherals, patch management, licensing compliance and overall support of the organizations technical assets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



-Direct management of team responsible for ensuring a stable and secure technical infrastructure supporting the organizational needs including server, network, desktop and telecom technologies.
-Overall management of technology based projects and / or tasks within organizational projects including budgets, equipment procurement and integration.
-Define, implement and maintain data back-up protocols to ensure the availability of transactional data.
-Oversee management of Microsoft Server and Exchange-based applications.
-Devise and manage policies and procedures to ensure the maximum utilization of the corporate LAN/WAN environments. Provide specialized technical expertise in researching and resolving complex problems in the network which may involve coordination of hardware and software vendor repair personnel. Advise department team members on procedures, techniques and requirements to insure maximum performance and availability of the LAN/WAN environments.
-Direct the management and maintenance of Cisco infrastructure to include (VOIP), Fax, ACD, Voicemail, and other telecommunications related solutions.
-Provide direction to the Support Desk function to ensure a positive customer service experience and high single point resolution.
-Establish and oversee processes for proactive management of desktop equipment, patches and lifecycle.
-Defines and documents standards supporting Active Directory account creation and permission assignment.
-Lead efforts in evaluating and selecting hardware and software products to meet the organizations defined needs and to position organization for strategic expansion.
-Provide technical expertise and guidance to Application Development and individual business units.
-Establish, implement and manage Service Level Agreements (SLA) for all requests made of engineering and support desk resources. Proactively manage units through analysis of requests to ensure proper staffing.
-Ensure security and operational standards and procedures are maintained in accordance to HIPPA standards and industry best practices.
-Develop and manage an operating and capital budget.
-Regular and consistent attendance.

Requirements

-Prior experience directly managing technical resources in a similar environment required


-8 to 10 years experience working with Microsoft server and Exchange messaging systems


-5 to 7 years in a Cisco switched routing environment.


-Prior working experience with VM Ware ESX in a clustered environment and experience with Storage Area Network required


-Able to work both as part of a team and also with minimal supervision a must


Experience with vendor management


-Good interpersonal and organizational skills


-Good written and verbal communication skills


-Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects. Strong customer service focus


-HealthCare industry experience preferred


-4-5 years managerial/supervisory experience preferred.
