POSITION PURPOSE - The Asset Protection Manager is responsible for teaching, coaching, and training associates to ensure the effective execution of the core AP initiatives. They are responsible or executing core programs and strategies relating to theft and fraud mitigation, operational excellence, safety and environmental compliance in The Home Depot stores (within assigned district) without adding complexity or tasking to the stores' operation. They must be able to multi-task across stores within a designated district and gain the partnership of the Store Manager, Leadership Team and other store associates to achieve goals. The APM must remain focused on district specific business objectives as outlined by the District Operations Manager (DOM) supporting key AP initiatives. MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - 50% Review and analyze store shrink performance; identify associate behaviors and/or operational issues through exception-based reporting and CCTV that may cause shrink; identify trends; make recommendations for improvement; teach, train, and coach associates to effectively handle opportunities; monitor corrective action. Identify and successfully investigate matters of internal dishonesty and Organized Retail Crime (ORC) investigations throughout the district. Conduct internal theft investigations and interviews in partnership with Human Resources and CIT. Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner. Monitor criminal cases, appear in court and testify as warranted. 35% Follow up, support and resolve safety, environmental and regulatory issues as assigned by the District Operations Manager. 15% Assist with the development and retention of hourly AP and Ops associates, in addition to all store associates. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Must have a valid state drivers license and proof of insurance. EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED. YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 03 CERTIFICATES/LICENSES - PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which might include supporting multiple stores. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelors degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job. Four plus years in retail industry or Home Depot equivalent. Relevant work experience in any of the following fields: Multi-site experience (6-12) with 1,000 plus associates. Supervisory experience, 2 plus years of district-based Asset Protection management experience. Completed the Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ) course through the Loss Prevention Foundation. Completed the Loss Prevention Certification (LPC) through the Loss Prevention Foundation. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES - Knowledge of retail Asset Protection, Operations, and Safety processes, programs and procedures. Ability to work cross-functionally to identify solutions to mitigate shrink, theft, and fraud and create safe work environments. Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral. Highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive and controversial issues. Proficient in use of retail CCTV systems. Strong analytical and financial analysis skills. Ability to teach, coach, and train associates to drive change and execute process improvements across region. Technology competence (Basic P.C. skills) Desktop Office Suite must be proficient in word, Excel and Power Point. Presentation skills. Change Management and Project Management.
