Job Description
Position Purpose
The sales representative is focused on the process of understanding and meeting customer needs in order to sell dealership vehicles and related products according to pre-determined guidelines established by management. The Sales Representative works together with the Desk Manager in attempting to determine and satisfy customers' needs.
Position Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
1.Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs.
2.Describe available vehicles and explain use, operation, and care of to customers.
3.Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain an appropriate vehicle based on customer needs and desires.
4.Present sales prices to customer.
5.Answer questions regarding the dealership and vehicles in stock.
6.Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
7.Maintain records related to sales.
8.Demonstrate use or operation of vehicles.
9.Place special orders or call other dealers to find desired vehicle.
10. Maintains the display and marketing of vehicles on the lot.
11. Effectively execute the sales process by marketing, prospecting and selling the product.
12. Keep informed of product and industry knowledge
1.Maintain working knowledge of competitors' products, prices and selling programs.
13. Demonstrate sensitivity to customers' needs and strives to exceed customer's expectations.
1.Build and maintain positive rapport with customers and deliver Checkered Flag's standard of customer service.
2.Demonstrate high standards of personal and professional integrity in performing activities related to the dealership.
14. Must maintain all expectations with the CRM system.
1.Set and determine strategies to meet sales goals, and developing a structured method of building customer loyalty and achieving sales success in the near and long terms.
15. Must meet minimum expectations and profitability as determined by management.
16. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain a collaborative working environment which creates positive interdepartmental relationships.
1. Understanding of processes and procedures in other areas of the dealership that affect salability of the product (i.e., parts & service).
17. Knowledge of dealership and industry sales procedures, processes, and follow-up.
1.Knowledge of the dealership's products (prices, models, series, options, warranties, colors, standard equipment, specifications).
18. Required to work off-site sales and participate in Car Shows as scheduled
19. Ensures the dealership meets or exceeds the manufacturer's national average for customer satisfaction
20. Protects confidential customer information by adhering to company compliance policies
21. Complete required company and manufacturer training
Job Requirements
1.High school diploma or equivalent
2.Must be licensed by the Division of Motor Vehicles for the state of Virginia
3.Must have basic knowledge of automotive systems and thorough knowledge of prices, models, series, options, and other aspects of the manufacturer's products and sales support programs
4.Must have strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills
5.Must have the ability to prospect customers, follow-up and request referrals.
6.Strong mathematical skills
7.Able to operate an automatic and manual transmission
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Position requires bending, stooping, standing, and moving throughout the dealership for most of the shift. Spending time outdoors showing vehicles to customers is also required. May lift up to 35 pounds occasionally. Must be able to work evening, holiday and weekend hours.
