About this job

Direct Care Professionals, or Caregivers, provide support to clients in our Adult Residential Services Program and/or Employment Services Program. The Direct Care Professional has hands-on responsibility for promoting and enhancing the development of each client, enabling skill acquisition to occur and for assuring the overall health and safety of all clients.

There are multiple openings and shifts depending on location. In Oregon, we have current positions listed for Salem, Canby, Woodburn, Mt. Angel, and Albany. Please see our website below for more details.

Essential Position Functions and Key Work Processes
1. Relate to customers in a continuous, consistent, warm, caring, age-appropriate manner.
2. Perform personal care activities with all customers as needed including but not limited to: personal hygiene care, brushing teeth, brushing hair, bathing/showering, toileting, changing adult incontinence pads, feeding (oral and gastric tube-if prescribed), dressing.
3. Perform other activities of daily living for adults.
4. Provide customer medication administration according to agency policy as ordered and assigned. Prescribed methods of administration may include but are not limited to: oral, ophthalmic, nasal, vaginal, and anal.
5. Document the progress of each customer using approved data collection methods.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Must be 18 years of age.
2. High School Diploma/GED
3. Current certification in CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment
4. Have a valid current Oregon Driver's License
5. Be a driver and be able to drive company vans to transport customers; this requires the ability to pass agency insurance requirements
6. Dependable personal transportation
7. Be able to lift up to 65 pounds for a total of up to 130 pounds in a two-person lift
