JOB SUMMARY: The Diesel Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repairs on diesel trucks and trailers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Perform repairs with efficiency and accuracy.
*Advise the Repair Manager immediately if: additional work is needed, outlined work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed in agreed upon time frame.
*Ensure that customer vehicles are kept clean.
*Communicate with Parts Department and foreman continuously to ensure timely availability of needed parts.
*Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations governing the disposal of hazardous waste.
*Execute/ use resource tracking system (Currently using TMT)

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITES:
*Ability to adapt to change in a fast-growing production environment.
*Ability to safely operate maintenance support equipment, such as towing vehicles and forklifts.
*Skill to closely follow written and oral directions, while maintaining a strong detail orientation.
*Demonstrate a desire to learn/grow in the trade

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
*High school Diploma or GED preferred.
*Diesel Engine Technology Certifications / Education are a plus.
*1 - 3 years of customer service experience.
*At least 2 verifiable employment references.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
*Must have experience diagnosing and repairing diesel trucks and trailers
*Must possess complete set of hand tools with rollaway toolbox and a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CDL.
*Move objects up to and exceeding 200 pounds with reasonable assistance.
*Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds with/without assistance.
*Must be able to work with minimal supervision, while demonstrating dependability, accuracy, and timeliness.
*Must be able to concentrate and focus on task; in a sometimes loud and high energy environment.
*Must possess a positive outlook on work activities.
