Job Summary:
With limited supervision, follow production/assembly instructions, bills of material, and drawings to perform electro-mechanical assembly operations of various items such as printed circuit board assemblies, wire/cable harnesses, subassemblies and a variety of finished-good products. Align, fit and assemble component parts and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, magnification and soldering equipment. Inspect parts for defects and verify performance of assemblies/finished products.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assembly of subassemblies and final assemblies in accordance with manufacturing outlines and blue prints.
- Assembles parts per manufacturing outlines using solder, soldering iron, and hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, and pliers). Units assembled may include mechanical and/or electronic assemblies.
- Perform hand soldering to build and rework PCB assemblies with small surface mount technology (SMT) components.
Requirements:
- Minimum one year assembly experience in a high volume manufacturing environment. 3+ years preferred
- Excellent soldering skills required with the ability to hand solder small packages such as 0603 or 0402 SMT components.
- Certifications in soldering, quality, electronics (preferred, but not required).
- Proficiency using manufacturing equipment (solder, glue gun, small hand tools, etc.).
- Lifting is generally in the 10 to 15 Lbs. range with minimal repetitions.
