Job Title: Legal Administrative Assistant Reports To: Legal Administration Manager Job Summary: The Legal Administrative Assistant works closely with the Legal Admin Manager and Attorneys to handle litigation files for collections matters, as well as incoming and outgoing correspondence. This position also entails working closely with the courts in filing motions, notices, and garnishments. The Legal Administrative Assistant is flexible, organized, and detail-oriented in light of the wide variety of administrative duties and responsibilities that are essential to the position. Essential Job Functions: *Produce legal documents to be filed with the courts, supporting the legal collections flow: Summons and Complaint, Pre-trial/Trials, Motion for Judgment, Garnishment, Interrogatories, etc. *Identify process improvements to ensure company compliance with legal requirements or to increase department efficiency *Conduct all necessary communication with external parties to each case i.e., clerk's offices, court services, process servers' offices, and opposing counsel, for timely filing of legal documents *Maintain litigation calendars, calculate litigation-related response dates, and ensure timely responses to discovery requests, legal notices, and subpoenas *Other duties as assigned by Management Skills/Knowledge/Education: *High school diploma/GED or equivalent *3+ years of paralegal/ legal secretarial experience, or equivalent education and experience in a corporate and law firm environment, with an emphasis in legal collections *Must be able to work in a high volume, fast-paced, often stressful environment with the ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands *Strong understanding of FDCPA/FCRA/regulatory requirements *Strong computer skills including: Microsoft Office and ICCES. Knowledge of Q-Law a plus *Excellent written and oral communication skills *Ability to work independently and prioritize To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all of the essential duties of the position satisfactorily.
