The Raiser's Edge Database Manager reports to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer and is an integral part of the Development Team.
The Database Manager's primary responsibilities are the administration of the Raiser's Edge (RE) database and NetCommunity program and overseeing gift processing and gift acknowledgements. The role serves as the single point of contact for all RE issues and questions. This position is responsible for maintenance and integrity of the database and duties range from building queries, creating reports, performing all global changes/imports/exports, to creating emails and donation pages in NetCommunity and processing gifts and batches.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Raiser's Edge expert and point of contact on all things related to the database
Oversee processing of gifts and gift acknowledgements.
Create, run and export queries for reporting and for direct mail appeals
Identify data integrity issues and solutions and perform data clean-up and maintenance projects
Create custom reports
Import online gifts received through the NetCommunity application into Raiser's Edge
Create new donation pages and registration forms in the NetCommunity application
Create new email campaigns, design, build and test email templates and layouts
Execute imports, exports and global updates
Proactively assist users in determining more efficient ways to utilize Raiser's Edge and provide support to end users when errors and issues arise.
Work with foundation leadership to maintain and (when necessary) create policies and procedures to ensure data entry and workflows are consistent.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures to support ethical and successful fundraising practices
Identify data integrity issues and solutions and perform data clean-up and maintenance projects
Direct data input/output by developing and coordinating the production of donor lists
Assist other users in various capacities relating to the database, including but not limited to queries, reports and mailings
Acts as point person to troubleshoot system-related errors and clarify system security.
Train new staff on the use of the Raiser's Edge Database and on a regular basis, conduct training sessions to educate the staff and ensure proper usage of the database.
Maintain and ensure the foundation's MGP rating system information is accurate and up to date.
Experience with Blackbaud products (e.g., Raiser's Edge and NetCommunity)
Knowledge of Microsoft products, proficiency with Outlook and Excel
Strong working knowledge of the Raiser's Edge Database is required
Strong working knowledge of BlackBaud's NetCommunity
Experience with Crystal Reports
Basic HTML knowledge is a definite plus
Very organized, efficient and persistent, with experience managing and juggling diverse tasks and projects with minimal supervision
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
Database or donor software skills
Quick data entry skills balanced with strong accuracy and attention to detail
