Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse - (NICU RN)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 D, 12 N Pay Rate: $33.00 - 38.00

Unit Description:
-Total # of beds in the unit: 33. Average daily census is: 19. Nurse to patient ratios 1:1-1:2 and 1:3 for all shifts.
-No Ancillary Staff. Type of Patients: Neonates. care for all infants, float to PICU
-Specific Unit Requirements: attended labor delivery birth, knowledgeable in NRP, able to care for surgical patients, GI, Cardiac, Neuro, GU, knowledgeable in medication administration, computer skills a must.
Patient Care Delivery System: Team. Special Unit Procedures: PDA. Meds and drips administered: PGE, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Fentanyl, Amiodarone. Documentation System: Computerized. Supplemental Staff required to float when necessary. Scrubs can be any color, RN provides their own scrubs. FLOATING--- floats to PICU as needed.

The role of the neonatal intensive care nurse (NICU nurse) is to provide direct and specialized care for newborns needing close monitoring due to premature birth, birth defects, infection, or other medical conditions requiring surgery or therapy. Working in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with doctors and other healthcare professionals, the NICU RNs assist in developing and implementing a plan of care for high-risk newborns requiring high-technology care, including ventilators, incubators, or other special equipment or surgery.

Required Qualifications
1. PALS (can obtain any time prior to start date, will need for floating)
2. NRP, BLS
3. 2 years experience in Level III NICU (will "Screen an RN with less than this if has Prior Travel experience in Level III or IV NICU)
4. Vent management
