Description

The Program Director is responsible to supervise services for people with disabilities in a group home setting. Above all, the Program Director is responsible to protect and promote the health, safety, and well-being of the people served. This Program Director will oversee four foster sites and an in-home program, serving individuals with autism, developmental disabilities & mental health conditions.

Under the supervision and support of the Area Director, the Program Director will over-see the operation of each site, including the areas of program management, financial management, physical plant, staff supervision and development, and maintaining individual, family, and county relations. Along with leading the management of the services, the Program Director works on-site to provide direct care and work shifts, interview/hire, train and schedule staff.

Qualifications
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • At least one or more years of full time experience serving individuals with any or all of the disabilities listed above, along with the completion of the Brain Injury course and Mental Healthy training.
  • Qualified Developmental Disability Professional recognition required for ICF (a only below) or Designated Coordinator recognition required for non-ICF (a-c below):
  • a) Four year degree in field related to human services and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; or
  • b) Associate degree in a field related to human services and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; or
  • c) A diploma in a field related to human services from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability in areas of leadership, personnel, employee training, and public relations.
  • Skilled in written and oral communication, community relations and service development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of behavior management principles, program development, and monitoring techniques.
  • Eligible as determined by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Department of Human Services, and the Company’s Corporate Compliance Plan.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets insurability requirements as defined by the Company’s insurance carrier.
