Essential Job Results

May include, but not limited to:

  • Come prepared to work at the start of every shift. Your hair must be pulled back if it touches your shoulders and you must be wearing your name tag at all times when working. Clothes must be pressed, neat and fit properly. Black socks and shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Responsible to be T.I.P.S. certified before serving alcoholic beverages to the guest.

  • Answer questions quickly and correctly regarding all aspects of the restaurant and the hotel
  • Effectively work the phones with a pleasant yet professional tone of voice
  • Maintain control of the seating flow within the restaurant (maximizing every server’s section evenly)
  • Learn and utilize knowledge of the restaurant and hotel for guest’s questions
  • Handle all transactions correctly (including cash, credit cards, house charges, room charges, and gift cards)
  • Help with room service when needed

The host/hostess position is a very important one because it is the first and usually the last contact a guest has with our restaurant. This person must have strong communication skills and carry themselves in a positive and professional manner. This position also requires the individual to gain and utilize as much knowledge as possible regarding the restaurant as well as the hotel

Work Environment

  • Long periods of standing
  • Able to stoop and bend
  • Able to lift 40 lbs from time to time, using tools of service, including small and large trays
  • Able to stand and move quickly throughout the restaurant for a maximum of 10 hours.
