Report To: Choctaw Ikhana Laboratory Services Program Manager

Choctaw Ikhana Laboratory Services is seeking a full time experienced CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN to work in our San Antonio, TX Choctaw Ikhana Laboratory located inside Kelly Aviation Center.

REQUIREMENTS:
* This position requires an Associate's Degree in Metrology or equivalent training in Physical Dimensional Calibrations, or equivalent technical training in Relevant Discipline.
* Two (2) years minimum experience in metrology or a related field. Formal training in metrology is desirable.
* Experience in (PMEL) Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory.
* Previous Military Calibration Experience.
* Experience in the calibration and repair of Torque Wrenches, Torque Screwdrivers and Torque Multipliers desirable.
* Good Mechanical skills for assembly, disassembly and operation of equipment.
* Knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software, ability to write calibration procedures.
* Knowledge of computer operation (PC) and the use of WORD, EXCEL, and POWER POINT, to maintain laboratory operations and to write calibration procedures.
* Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
* Must have valid driver's license.
* Work hours required Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.

MAJOR DUTIES:
* Picking up test equipment from the using facilities and/or personnel, logging test equipment in MET SYS and MET Trak, and initiating the transfer of test equipment to and from performing organization for calibration, repair, rework, and /or PM.
* Tests, calibrates and repairs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards.
* Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
* Disassembles instruments and equipment, using hand tools, and inspects components for defects. Measures parts for conformity with specifications, using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
* Receive work assignments from the Lead Technician, and operates under his general supervision.
* Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry. Reassembles and calibrates instruments and equipment.
* Complies with instructions and time/completion data estimates established by Kelly Aviation Center Work Request.
* Initiates requests for instructions, manuals, parts, and materials as necessary or as directed.
* Keep abreast of all Quality Assurance and Safety policies and procedures for KAC.
* Data base entries for new calibration items and items with changes of status. Running weekly and monthly calibration due reports. This requires knowledge of Word, Excel, Power point and Database entry.
* Cross training and on the job training to test, calibrate, and repair torque test equipment and equipment for conformance to established standards.
* Provides technical information on complex test equipment as requested to customers and supervisors as required.
* Perform additional tasks as assigned or required by supervisor. Works well within a team and communicates effectively when necessary. Performs as part of In-Place calibration team.
