This person manages the financial and administrative functions of the company and directs & controls both company employees and outsourced services in financial, human resource and IT matters. The Senior Controller will have a significant impact on the company’s success by maintaining a high level of financial control and analysis, developing programs to support a professional work environment to attract and retain high-caliber employees, and, enhance and maintain a fully functioning IT infrastructure to support the business needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage cash flow, recognizing the need to increase scrutiny as necessary
- Assume check signing and account management privileges as necessary
- Prepare monthly financial statements; reconcile all Balance Sheet accounts
- Maintain banking and shareholder relationships
- Provide annual budget, quarterly results and loan covenant tests as required
- Lead budgeting efforts
- Prepare for and manage annual audit and partnership K-1's
- Government contract accounting; participate in contract reviews, prepare ICE models and manage periodic audits as requested.
- Become knowledgeable of, and use, external customer EDI systems for receipt of RFQs, sales orders, billing and cash receipts.
- Assure the stability and use of the ERP system companywide.
- Issue work orders, review capital purchase requests for management approval, maintain supporting documentation.
- Direct and administer company’s MIS, IT and telecommunications functions.
- Lead company Human Resource efforts.
- Maintain company insurance policies.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is highly desirable
- 5+ years experience as a Controller
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is required
- Hands-on leadership and able to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
- Excellent organizational, computer and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to interact with diverse employee groups
- Prior experience with Human Resource management
- Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, Crystal Reports
- Prior experience with military/government contracting is helpful
