The Pharmacy Technician will provide courteous and prompt service.
You will collect and verify insurance and physician information. You may serve in a variety of positions in our organization including customer service, billing, intake, adjudication and filling / shipping at our central fill, corporate office, or a retail location.
Job Responsibilities:
* Responsible for billing and resolving billing errors, reconciliation , adjudication
* Verifies, investigates and resolves issues
* Ensures data is correct
* Continual communication between the patient, doctor's offices, and Insurance carriers/PBM's
* Handling prior authorizations and coordinating copies of medical documentation to support billing
Requirements
* College or High School Diploma or Equivalent
* Registered with the State of Florida Board of Pharmacy
* Certificate from a Pharmacy Technician program
* PCCA and/or MEDISCA training preferred
* 1 to 2 years of medical billing experience
* Experience working with QS1, Computer RX, RX30, PK-the Compounder or Comparable billing software
* Billing of insurance claims and in the re-billing of rejected third party claims
* Experience with Insurance Carriers and PBM (Plan Benefits Managers)
* Must be able to type 50 wpm
* Experience working at a mail order pharmacy, compounding and retail pharmacy preferred
* Experience interacting with patients / customers, pharmacy and medical offices over the phone
* Maintain confidentiality in compliance with Federal HIPPA Regulations
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to communicate clearly through email and phone with strong interpersonal skills
* Strong comprehension skills
* Effective organizational skills and attention to detail required
* Ability to understand and apply calculations
* Ability to solve problems and resolves issues
* Proficient in MS Office applications and CRM's/Information management systems
* Ability to work Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm is required.
