About this job
The job holder is responsible for configuring file transmissions using pre-approved standard protocols. The developer has an expert knowledge of each protocol solution and is capable of configuring transmissions in any of them. The analyst is responsible for reviewing each assigned file transmission request, understanding the customer requirements, working directly with the customer and internal business partner, and configuring a standard file transmission solution. The analyst is capable of answering complex technical questions from the customer and can advise and make technical recommendations back to the customer. The technologist should have an expert knowledge of mainframe, TSO, JCL, ISPF, file flows, and the file transmission process (FTP). The analyst also understands and can build/configure VPN and other dedicated networking solutions. This person must be able to multi-task, and have excellent organizational skills. This person also requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
