We are currently hiring for Machine Operator, Line Leader, and Production Supervisor positions in Red Wing, MN.  These are excellent opportunities with a premier manufacturer of semi trailer floors.

 

 

Machine Operator

  • Operate machinery and keeps work area clean.
  • Handle manufacturing materials (mostly wood) in order to produce semi-trailer flooring, in accordance with safety, quality, and quantity standards.
  • Receive additional training as needed from the trainer and or shift supervisor in order to meet full and complete production capacity as outlined for the department.
  • Follow established policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other manufacturing duties as required.
  • Use hands repetitively and may operate foot controls.

 

Line Leader

  • Ensure that departmental personnel keep their department clean.
  • Direct and assign the duties of personnel in the department.
  • Measure and observe employee performance techniques in accordance with safety, quality, and quantity standards.  Coach for improved performance.
  • Coordinate additional training needs for his/her personnel with the trainer and shift supervisor. Insures that all the department’s personnel are properly trained, and at full and complete production capacity as outlined for the department.
  • Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor for processes and repairs necessary to produce product; write up repair work orders and submit to Shift Supervisor for approval.  
    • Report employee non-conformance issues to the shift supervisor.
    • Perform other manufacturing duties as required.
  • Assure that established Policies and Standard Operating Procedures are followed.
  • Prevent and or correct any production problems that occur on the line; assure that machinery and equipment are properly maintained for efficient production, and report any equipment problems to the Shift Supervisor.

 

Production Supervisor

  • Accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Coach, counsel, and disciplines employees. Coordinate and enforce established Standard Operating Procedures and policies.
  • Maintain staff by orienting and training employees. Assist in the development of professional growth opportunities for his/her reports.
  • Maintain work flow by monitoring the various stages of the manufacturing process and observe the control points and equipment. Monitor both personnel and resources. Make corrections to process “bottlenecks” while fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Meet production goals by assigning personnel that can deliver results. Determine priorities by monitoring progress, reviewing production schedules and resolving problems. Report results of the Production Manager.
  • Maintain quality by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Ensure seamless operation of equipment by calling for repairs of machines and equipment.
  • Provide essential manufacturing data by compiling and sorting production metrics. Analyze operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and personnel requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with established safety policies and housekeeping procedures such as a clean work environment, by educating and directing personnel.
  • Resolve personnel problems by investigating issues and identifying possible solutions. Must consult with Human Resources before taking action.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training workshops and benchmarking production practices.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other tasks as needed, and or as instructed by Management.

 

Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and kneel/crouch
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Work in all climates
  • Steel toe work boots
  • Dependable
  • High School Diploma/GED

 

Addition requirements for Supervisor position:

  • Must be able to maintain a professional and ethical relationship with manufacturing personnel, both inside and outside the company. Interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to develop and communicate technical information and specifications in reports to management.
  • Ability to evaluate, make recommendations and effectively communicate pertinent production information to his/her superiors.
  • Strong analytical, measurement, and mechanical knowledge is required.

 

Wage:  $11.00-19.00/hr

Shift:  1st and 2nd shifts
