Roles and Responsibilities - Educator
●Delivers Right At School curriculum in a way that excites and engages children and fosters the 4Cs
●Partners with your Site Manager in curriculum delivery and enhancement
●Manages and organizes materials for all lessons and activities
●Implements effective classroom management strategies to maintain the attention, safety
and well-being of all students
●Communicates with parents when needed
●Serves as a Homework Specialist when not teaching content
●Administers First Aid, when necessary
*This is a part-time position, approximately 18 hours per week, typically between the hours of 2pm and 6pm.
Requirements
●Must love working with kids and demonstrate the necessary passion and dedication to successfully manage the Play Right program to Right At School standards
●30 hours of college credit with 6 semester hours in child care/education or 1560 hours of experience working with school age children and 6 semester hours in child care/education preferred.
●Previous experience leading or instructing large groups of school-age children in organized activities preferred
●Playground management skills with the ability to use and model appropriate and positive discipline
●Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and foster teamwork with school administration and other recess coaches; Site Managers must have previous leadership experience
●Ability to adapt and respond to fluid and unexpected situations in a flexible, professional manner is key
●First Aid and CPR certification required
●Bilingual, a plus
●100% dependability is a must!
