About this job

On behalf of RTI International, Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking Field Interviewers for a government sponsored research study.

RTI International, one of the world's leading research institutes, is an independent nonprofit organization which strives to improve the human condition by turning knowledge into practice.

As a Headway Field Interviewer for RTI, you will make personal visits to scientifically sampled homes and interview individuals for the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH).

You may have never heard of the NSDUH until now, but you've definitely seen the profoundly important outcomes of their data collection research. This is your opportunity to become a crucial part of this important study, and to participate in research that benefits your community and the nation.

What you'll do as a Field Interviewer:
  • You'll make in-person contact with scientifically sampled households in assigned areas to inform them about the study, explain why they were selected, and obtain their participation.
  • You'll communicate with each selected individual to collect confidential information and administer the computerized NSDUH interview.
  • You'll represent NSDUH professionally as the nation's primary source of data on the use of tobacco, alcohol, illicit drugs, and non-medical use of prescription drugs.
  • You'll work a fluid schedule of approximately 25 hours a week, including most evenings and weekends.
  • You'll collaborate closely with your field supervisor to inform them of your progress and update them with any research study problems and successes.

To do this job well, you should possess these attributes:
  • You're positive, self-motivated and enjoy interacting and working with people from all backgrounds.
  • You can successfully keep track of all your administrative duties, deadlines, and other project management-related tasks.
  • You thrive working independently and can proactively manage your schedule and workload to meet set deadlines.
  • You're comfortable using a handheld tablet and laptop computer to collect the data gathered during participant interviews.
  • You're passionate about your community and believe in the positive impact your work will have.

If you have these attributes we want to hear from you!

Why you'll enjoy working as a Headway Field Interviewer on assignment with RTI International:
  • You'll get satisfaction from making a positive impact in your community and receiving a competitive wage.
  • You'll be an integral part of this important research, conducted by one of the world's leading independent, nonprofit research organizations dedicated to improving peoples' lives.

Make sure you bring: a goal-oriented approach, a drive to improve, a commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and passion for your community.
