This position will sit in our Global Ecommerce business unit. This business unit provides a platform that simplifies everything from cross-border transactions to the shipment of merchandise through an integrated suite of web services designed to address the needs of online retailers, marketplaces, etc.

We are seeking a Product Manager for Transportation / Carrier Solutions. This position will work out of our Stamford , CT office.

The Product Manager manages existing products & services as well as creating and integrating new products and product changes. In essence, the Product Manager is responsible for the evolution of the product - from inception to execution and continuous improvement. In this role, the Product Manager conducts in-depth analysis on the existing product and conducts market research, performance measurement, etc. to identify best in class product enhancements to drive product accountability and profitability. The Product Manager also works to identify product positioning, viability and future scalability of existing and new products for new opportunities in new markets and verticals.

The Product Manager will create formal documentation of the current product offering, manage the project evolution of the current product, develop business cases for new product development investments and work as a facilitator between the various internal organizations to ensure product policy and processes are negotiated, documented, and executed accurately.

The Product Manager must possess strong analytical capabilities and combine that with business and technical savvy along with strong project management skills to be able to take a big picture vision and drive the vision to reality.

The Product Manager must be able to effectively communicate with all areas of the company: ranging from Senior Product Directors to Business Analysts and Engineering teams to define product release requirements and ensure consistency of product requirements to what actually gets developed.

The Product Manager will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
    Specify requirements for current and future products by conducting market research and analysis
  • Drive a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering) from business and technical requirements through to market positioning
  • Manage requirements for carrier integration, monitor post deployment performance, analyze issues to assess if product change required
    Identify and present innovative and creative product solutions
  • Monitor internal processes for efficiency and validity pre & post product launch/changes
  • Provide support for other departmental projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification
  • Bachelors degree in business, marketing, engineering or computer science
  • 1+ years of Product Management in an ecommerce, IT or related field
  • Experience in shipping or mailing industry
  • Experience in vendor system integration
  • Experience in agile/scrum
  • Strong technology acumen
  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or work experience a strong plus
