Labor Ready is currently looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic position in the Anacortes, WA area. These are temp to hire positions, working 40 hours a week, Day and Swing shifts, Monday through Saturday. Pay ranging with experience $16.00 to $20.00 per hour

Job Description

• Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, gearboxes, hydraulic systems and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties:
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
• Repairs and replaces defective parts
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using micrometers, calipers and gauges.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices
• Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment and machinery
• Test and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts
• Sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary
• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines
• Repairs electrical equipment
• Maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate variable shifts ranging from 4-18 hours depending on maintenance workload.
• May participate and train with HazMat team
• Other duties as requested or assigned

Job Requirements

• Must possess a High school diploma/GED ( basic mechanical knowledge in food Industry preferred)
• One year certificate from college or technical school, 3-6 months related experience.
• Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and bagging machines preferred.
• Physically able to stand, bend, reach and stretch and lift 50-75 pounds repetitively for 8-12 hours.
• Detail oriented and have the ability to follow both oral and written directions, ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to operate variety of hand tools, welding machines, cutting torches, and power tools, pipe cutters power drills, power saws, pullers, wrenches screw drivers, sockets ratchets, grinders pry bars, hammers, punches, measuring devices and chisels.
• Willing to submit to background check and drug screen

Pay Rate: $16 to $20.00 per hour based on experience

Shift/Hours: Monday – Saturday, 40+ hours per week on Day, Swing shifts
