Job Summary Under the direction of management, the Sales Lead's responsibilities include customer service, supervision of work plans of department personnel, maintaining departmental standards, and control according to established store and company policies and procedures. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: I. Responsible for customer service. A. Greet every customer with a smile within 10 feet of entering front door and each department. B. In aisles, ask customers open-ended questions. C. Measure all kids. D. Show customers at least 2 different styles. E. When slow, serve customers more; when busy serve more customers. F. Suggest a shoe care item to every customer. G. Thank and ask every customer back. II. Responsible for supervision of department personnel. A. Sets an example of customer service and aisle maintenance expectations for all personnel to follow. B. Delegates departmental tasks to sales associates in a positive manner and ensures completion with timely follow up. C. Assists in the training of all new associates. D. Promotes a friendly, positive atmosphere to ensure good morale. E. Immediately informs management of any departmental personnel issues regarding safety, injury, discipline, tardiness and attendance, or the potential violation of company policies and procedures. F. Checks areas of responsibility for standards compliance before each associate's end of shift. III. Responsible for daily/weekly adherence of department standards. A. Maintains compliance of proper flow by following Merchandise Flow Plan. B. Ensures all displays and product statements are fresh, correctly assembled, and maintained on a daily basis. C. Assumes responsibility for accuracy of promotional and permanent pricing of all product. D. Requires total compliance by departmental personnel in following all inventory control and loss prevention policies and procedures. E. Maintains adequate departmental seating and restocking of supplies. F. Ensures daily attention to proper cleanliness of department. G. Requires all departmental associates to adhere to correct mismate reduction procedures. H. Ensures regular processing of short lots and clearance product according to policy. I. Ensures all transfers in/out are according to company policy. IV. Responsible for operational planning and control. A. Develops weekly plan for working new shipment and changing displays according to Flow Plan and current placement priorities. B. Informs management of best and slowest sellers in department weekly and makes recommendations for improvement. C. Informs management of competition at lower prices. D. Maintains awareness of current market trends and possible needs for departmental improvement. E. Ensures adequate level of customer service through careful planning of all tasks and shares customer feedback with management. V. Responsible for following store policies and procedures and all management direction.
