POSITION PURPOSE
Partner with Director- Employment Practices to insure a union free environment across the Home Depot enterprise.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage union election campaigns under the direction of Director.
- Employment Practices Design and implement union free learning programs across the Home Depot enterprise Manage issues effecting the Home Depot enterprise involving organized labor; instruct business partners on handling of same in the field Lead Employment Practices project initiatives Conduct internal investigations.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Typically reports to Director - Employment Practices Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 06
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
JD or MBA Retail and/or distribution experience. Experience with Teamsters and UFCW
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
Extensive knowledge of labor and employment law, particularly NLRA Experience managing multiple union election campaigns.
