Lead Diesel Technician

Lead Diesel Technician Summary: Repair and inspect company equipment in a safe, timely, cost effective and practical manner.
Lead Diesel Technician Shift: M-F; 1st Shift (6:30am-3:00pm)
Lead Diesel Technician Responsibilities:
- Routine and preventative maintenance.
- DOT Inspections on fleet of heavy-duty trucks and/or buses, as may be required in the department assigned to.
- Repairs will include preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, tire repairs, warranty procedures, driveline, steering, suspension, electrical, AC, refrigeration, overheads and overhauls/rebuilds of engines and transmissions
- Diagnose any mechanical, electrical, other breakdown or failure
- Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of the components parts and systems.
- Read precision instruments, such as:
- Micrometers, dial indicators, bored gauges, etc.
- When applicable, use welding skills.
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualified Candidates For The Lead Diesel Technician Position Will Have Met The Following:
- Required:
- Equivalent of a high school diploma or GED & 3+ years of related equipment maintenance and repair; OR 5+ years of related equipment maintenance and repair.
- CDL
- Preferred:
- Mechanical or trade school certificate
- ASE certificates
Working Conditions:
Shop, office, yard, vehicle environment, may require lifting of 20 to 50 lbs., at least once a day.
