The Program Manager for Caregiver and Senior Center Operations develops and directs all aspects of the local 1) Caregiver SOS , including caregiver education, information and referral services, care consultation, marketing, and program development and 2) senior center, including supervision of senior center staff, development of a comprehensive calendar of senior center activities, enforcement of senior center policies, and marketing. This position provides innovation and leadership in keeping with the Caregiver SOS framework of “Wellness, Information, Support, and Education” and the WellMed mission of “changing the face of healthcare delivery for seniors.”  The Program Manager, Caregiver and Senior Center Operations is also responsible for creating awareness in the community regarding Caregiver SOS, the Senior Center, and WellMed programs and services that serve a diverse group of seniors and caregivers. Special emphasis will be placed on driving visits to the center and providing a cadre of programs and services that support caregivers and seniors.

 

Essential Job Functions

1.      Directs and leads all aspects of Caregiver SOS and the senior center, including oversight of staff and volunteers.

2.      Develops an annual business plan with measurable objectives, and targeted activities to achieve those objectives for caregivers and senior center members.

3.      Builds relationships and collaborates with key leaders, professionals and organizations that serve caregivers and seniors in the community.  Develops collaborative partnerships with key community organizations, entities and stakeholders.

4.      Seeks out and develops networking opportunities and speaking engagements in the community that will generate awareness of Caregiver SOS and WellMed initiatives.

5.      Coaches and trains staff and volunteers, holding regular meetings to engage, motivate, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

6.      Utilizes tracking systems to formally track phone calls, visits, trainings, outreach, and family meetings.

7.      Plans and executes a comprehensives monthly calendar of events that leverage the Caregiver SOS and senior center resources most effectively and efficiently.

8.      Holds care consultation meetings with caregivers and their families.

9.      Completes reports according to established deadlines.

10.  Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field highly preferred. 

Two or more years of experience serving seniors, running volunteer programs, or related experience in a marketing environment.

Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to work on a team and/or independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to supervise, train, monitor, and motivate the work of others.

Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential issues.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the internet.

Staff supervision.

Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential issues.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Ability to work with diverse groups at all levels.

Ability to lift  up to 25lbs

Ability to sit for extended periods of time

Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery

Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing

Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
