The Associate Director, Healthcare
Economics will serve as a leader of the analysis and communication from the United
Retiree Solutions Healthcare Economics team to position UnitedHealth Group as a
trusted advisor to its customers. This position will also provide support to
the URS Strategic Growth and Healthcare Economics teams through consistent,
effective, high-quality analytics and presentation support to our Sales and Account
Management teams.
Primary
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret various forms of Utilization, Claims, Demographics, and
other Healthcare data to identify potential areas for Medical Cost
improvements via products, services, and other Market trends. - Create a clear, compelling assessment of root causes and actionable/non-actionable
contributing factors. - Quantify value generated by historically-implemented solutions.
- Conduct presentations for Customer meetings as the Subject Matter Expert to
present findings and recommendations. - Negotiate complex situations and sensitive situations with a tactful and positive
attitude. - Communicate and present information to Customers and Internal teams in an articulate
and professional manner. - Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to Internal teams and Customers on Healthcare Cost and Quality topics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Math, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- 4+ years of Healthcare Data Analysis experience.
- Previous experience developing and giving presentations for executive-level audiences on a regular basis.
- Ability to utilize macros, Pivot tables, and formatting data in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to perform advanced Data Analytics in Microsoft Access.
- Ability to build Presentation decks from scratch in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- MBA or Actuarial credentials.
- Prior experience working for a Health Plan.
- Experience working with SAS.
- Experience working with SQL.
