Overview:

Under general supervision, provides basic on-site diagnosis, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, installation, set up and repair of MST systems. Refers more complex problems to next appropriate level of support or receive direct guidance for their resolution.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Perform basic daily diagnostic testing, adjustment, troubleshooting, and repairs to hardware and software of customer facing equipment with minimal assistance
  • Respond to, follow up, and close all assigned problem tickets
  • Assist with equipment hardware and software installation
  • Troubleshoot infrastructures including cabling (LAN ,Telephony)
  • Maintain register presentation and equipment room standards
  • With guidance, communicate effectively with MST Management, Stores and Team Members
  • Travel independently in a defined region routinely, or travel nationally as business needs dictate
  • Acquire and apply new knowledge and skills necessary to support POS, PC,RF Communications and MST systems
  • Maintain accurate inventory of MST assets
  • Requires standing, bending and independently lifting up to 65 pounds
  • Oversee MST cable standards to maintain integrity
  • Re-terminate and or cross connect patch cables
  • Follow safe work practices
  • Provide after hours and/or weekend or holiday support (unscheduled support), as business needs arise
  • Respond to and/or be dispatched to support On Call including weekends and holidays (scheduled support)
  • Follow established procedures for time recording
  • Complete administrative duties, includes but is not limited to: expense reporting, status reports.



Skills Summary:
  • Minimum one year experience in the repair of electronic equipment including POS, PC's etc. And/or degree from Accredited Electronics School or College (Course of study: Electronics, Engineering, or Computer Science)
    Problem solving troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate within own group and with store personnel
    Strong customer focus.
  • Sense of urgency and flexible to changing circumstances and customer needs
  • Basic knowledge of PC hardware and understanding and use of Windows Operating System, Windows Office products and Communications software
  • Working knowledge of email systems (i.e.: Lotus Notes)
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure cabling (LAN and Telephony)
  • Knowledge of retail environment
  • Makes decisions on troubleshooting tools required to repair hardware.
  • Knows severity of issue and escalates
  • Interfaces with Mentor / Manager to prioritize issues that affect the business
  • Understands criticality of equipment and or application as it relates to store operations
  • Resourceful in troubleshooting or repair may be required
  • Begin to gain ability to solve issues in creative manner with Management approval
  • Basic working knowledge of PC hardware and understanding and use of
  • Windows Operating System, Windows Office products and Communications software.
  • A+ Training recommended but not required
  • Basic knowledge and usage of Word, Excel , and Lotus Notes or equivalent (attachments etc.)
  • High School education and 1 year of related experience.
