Trainers with UnitedHealth Group have the opportunity to train talented individuals and exceptional professionals. This a great opportunity to effect the delivery of training programs across a Fortune 25 Organization. In this role, the trainer will keep abreast of various training delivery techniques, business processes, products and systems in specific areas of expertise.

Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Maintain and apply knowledge of facilitation best practices
  • Conduct appropriate preparation to ensure full understanding of
    training content and objectives prior to delivery (e.g. review of facilitator
    guide, real-world examples, rehearsal)
  • Identify, understand and prepare the appropriate training
    technology to ensure effective learning (e.g., WebEx, LearnSource).
  • Ensure that the logistics of the learning environment are
    completed and in place (e.g., rosters, technology, room arrangements/configuration,
    learning materials)
  • Deliver training and gather learner feedback during the
    facilitation process to support effective knowledge transfer and make
    appropriate adjustments to the facilitation process (e.g., periodic knowledge
    checks, assessments, polls)
  • Identify and adapt to the learning styles of the audience during
    the facilitation process (e.g., apply principles of adult learning, guide
    participant discussions to drive learning).
  • Ensure/provide training coordination/support to facilitate
    delivery of effective training (e.g., room coordination, supplies/materials, enrollments,
    scheduling).
  • Demonstrate understanding of the appropriate learning metrics used
    to evaluate learning effectiveness and their implications for enhancing the
    learning process (e.g., Metrics That Matter, Knowledge Advisors).
  • Identify and monitor applicable metrics/data/trends to track
    learning effectiveness and recommend/drive changes to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrate understanding of applicable business structures and
    strategies (e.g., business segments, Benefits vs. Services, interrelationships).
  • Related tasks to support the Optum Sales business and Knowledge & Learning Team as assigned

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma with 2+ years of Sales training experience.
  • 1+ year of experience working with Adult Learning theory and methodology, with the ability to apply this in training delivery and evaluation.
  • 1+ year of experience delivering training in a virtual environments such as WebEx.
  • Ability to build decks from scratch within Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to create correspondence and use basic functions within Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to perform data entry and sort/filter functions within Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualification:
  • Experience Training in a Corporate Sales environment.
  • Experience in a healthcare sales environment.
