Delaware MENTOR has an amazing opportunity to impact Adults with developmental disabilities and lead a team of dedicated professionals.

Delaware MENTOR is seeking a Program Director to provide leadership and oversight for the day to day operations of the Sussex County residential programs. As an Area Director, you will ensure quality of services delivered, compliance with regulatory requirements, and overall customer satisfaction. You will manage, hire, train and build a strong team of passionate individuals to deliver our mission of providing quality, innovation and growth to the individuals we serve.

This is a fantastic opportunity with wide ranging responsibilities, allowing further development of your career path in Social and Human Services and with the MENTOR Network:

  • Provide leadership including leading a team of Direct Support Professionals; implementation of Network employee practices; recommend and assist with recruitment, supervision and training.
  • Oversee program implementation of health and safety programs.
  • Maintain and foster relations with case managers and residential providers and regulatory agencies.
  • Advocate on behalf of individuals receiving services and Network as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain relations with individuals receiving services, families and guardians; implement individual support plans as appropriate.
  • Oversee program quality enhancement and develop individual program plans; coordinate Network standards, licensing requirements and individual supported needs; review and submit incident reports.
  • Implement program core growth strategy to maintain or increase census, maximize utilization.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of program operations; complete purchasing of program supplies; and review and submit billing compliance documentation.
  • Maintain program compliance with Network and regulatory standards for clean, neat, safe working environments; ensure pleasant, age-appropriate setting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate program documentation.
  • Develop and implement functional and meaningful curriculum and activities to meet the needs of the individuals we support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related human service field and a minimum of 18 months experience in the human services industry

OR

  • 5 years experience in a human services delivery system (in lieu of degree) including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory position. Additionally, must have a minimum of 3 years experience or training in care and supervision of clients in a licensed neighborhood group home.
  • Strong supervisory experience
  • Exceptional communication skills – ability to work with a range of people (Caregivers, Consumers, Families…)
  • Ability to prioritize and shift gears quickly

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree preferred plus three years of experience in the human services industry in a licensed neighborhood group home/residential setting.
  • Other education and experience plus licensure as required by state
