Optum, part of the UnitedHealth Group family of companies, is looking for an experienced Healthcare Compliance and Audit Analyst to join our dynamic team in Phoenix, AZ (Las Vegas NV is another possible location). Things are exciting at UHG as we are experiencing unprecedented growth, and looking for someone with the right stuff for our Operations team. The Analyst is an individual contributor role in a matrixed work environment who will be assigned to work supporting multiple operating units within the organization. The Analyst will be responsible for monitoring changes with laws and regulations to ensure our operations comply with State and Federal guidelines. This individual will be responsible to establish, mandate and implement standard policies, procedures and best practices across the company to promote compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations. They will also be responsible for periodic reviews and audits of our operations.


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Conduct state-specific contractual or statutory research

  • Monitor changes in requirements to mitigate risks and achieve compliance

  • Support the collection of data for regulatory filings

  • Monitor and/or coordinate internal and external regulatory audits

  • Create internal regulatory reporting and analyze and quality check external reports

  • Develop compliance communications and drive problem resolution for a business segment across United Health Group

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience working in a government, healthcare, managed care or health insurance environment

  • 3+ years of experience working in a compliance or regulatory affairs role

  • Intermediate or better proficiency using MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in effectively in written & verbal English

  • Ability to manage multiple projects

  • Ability to stay organized and use time management skills

  • Ability to work effectively and congenially with employees at all levels

  • Objective, collaborative approach; consensus builder who strives to build partnerships

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Professional certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC or similar)

  • Experience in claims, provider relations, or another area of healthcare operations
