IT Systems Analyst - Healthcare Exchange - Hartford, CT - Full-time / Part-time

The Systems Analyst will be required to perform business/system analysis to provide solutions to enhance health exchange applications. Scope will include triaging production issues & provide experienced Business/System Analyst knowledge of the business rules for health exchange systems.

This position needs to be located in our Hartford, CT office and will require up to 25% travel to Winooski, VT.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Understand new requirements and propose business & system solutions for implementation


• Work with different business groups and interfacing systems to coordinate the business and system solutions to the production problems


• Working directly with the customer stakeholders to prioritize application production issues


• Review new production issues (problems, incidents) assigned to the application support group


• Ensure that sufficient information is available with each ticket to proceed with the analysis and resolution


• Conduct the initial triaging to understand what business area, system component that problem lies with


• Assign tickets to the right business, application group and oversee the correct resolution of the production issue.


• Serve as the single point for application support team to triage production issues.


• Coordinate business approval of production migrations (release entry framework to be extended). Facilitate the hand-off of new release functionality from the development team to the Application support team


• Monitor production capacity and storage for the application and take corrective action when capacity thresholds are passed

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of total IT industry experience


• 2+ years of experience in the healthcare industry


• 4+ yrs experience in IT as business or system analyst


• Triage management skills


• Excellent root cause analysis skills


• Willingness and ability to travel 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree


• 2+ years of production support experience


• Experience in eligibility determination around Medicaid and qualified health plans


• Prior technical experience working in distributed technologies


• Prior experience working with health exchanges

• Highly organized; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously


• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance


• Ability to work with people at all levels of a large organization


• Ability to analyze and synthesize data, and to identify solutions to non-standard problems
