Must Have: strong automotive background. Lube tech will often work well. Candidates will be using hand tools, power tools and air tools. May provide some of their own tools.

The chassis assembler is responsible for assembling the chassis of the fire truck. This may include the frame up of the chassis, installing wheels, dropping in the engine, connecting wire harnesses and fuel lines and installing brakes.
