This position will sit in our Pitney Bowes Mail Services business unit. This business unit helps customers earn the best possible discounts on First-Class and Standard postage with our presort services, doing work the U.S. Post Service would otherwise have to perform. This service spans the globe with international offerings, ranging from mail preparation and fulfillment to courier and freight services.

We are currently seeking an On-Site Technician, 3rd Shift. The right candidate will be an integral part of our talented team, supporting our continued growth. This position will be located in ourSacramento, CAlocation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides technical support to production equipment in an Operating Center under the direction of the Senior Technician and Technician Supervisor.
  • Responsible for mechanical and electronic repairs of all equipment.
  • Completes preventative maintenance according to MPTQM and vendor operating standards.
  • Responds to equipment break down or emergency situations with urgency and expediency.
  • Consistently utilizes MP2 and maintains the spare parts/supply inventory.
  • Evaluates and assesses equipment problems by troubleshooting and completing repairs in a timely manner.
  • Communicates and/or escalates serious equipment issues to the Senior Technician or Technician Supervisor.
  • Attends appropriate technical training classes.
  • Studies, reviews and utilizes vendor technical manuals, publications or updates, as needed, to remain familiar with all changes or modifications to equipment.
  • Assists other Presort locations with moving and/or installing of equipment as needed.
  • Responds to a pager/cell phone during on-call periods or during emergency situations.
  • Regular attendance Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualification

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in maintaining, repairing, or installing mailing or comparable equipment.
  • Familiarity with Windows PC environment as it pertains to the operation of automated equipment.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, establish priorities, and work under deadline pressures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, explain equipment maintenance or repair needs to management technicians and other employees.
  • Must work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to take instruction or direction.
  • The ability to read and follow schematics.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as required.
  • Available to travel 10% of the time for training purposes.
  • Ability to use basic electrical/electronic testing equipment.
  • While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak clearly, hear and use hands and fingers with or without accommodations.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or lift and/or move maximum of 50 lbs. with or without accommodations.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule (Monday -Saturday, sometimes Sundays) on 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, based on business needs; including weekends, holidays and overtime.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of Electronics course work usually provided in a program at a trade school or community college. AA degree in Electronics, Computer Science or related field of study is preferred.
  • Well experienced on Siemens software and computers preferred
