POSITION PURPOSE
The Regional Associate Relations manager (RARM) is responsible for executing the strategy for promoting fair and consistent employment practices. The RARM ensures a positive associate relations environment to enhance overall performance in driving customer service and sales. This role requires highly-developed interpersonal and consultative skills for dealing with sensitive and controversial situations. The RARM reports to the Division Director of Associate Relations. MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Provides direction and guidance to Regional Vice President, Regional Human Resource Director, and other regional leaders on labor and employment issues/trends and associate relations needs to ensure they are creating and maintaining a positive associate relations environment
  • Providing guidance to regional leaders on the interpretation and consistent application of Company policies, programs and initiatives
  • Counseling and coaching leaders on proactive associate relations initiatives
  • Analyzing regional/district/store data to identify AR activity/trends and ensuring fair and consistent application of Company policies and practices using various tools and then developing, executing, and following up on game plans
  • Provides direction and guidance to regional leadership on associate relations activity and compliance trends through updates on all labor and employment claims and activity
  • Monitoring all labor relations activity in the region with guidance and direction from the Store Support Center (SSC) – Associate Relations team
  • Provides direction to regional leadership on procedures for handling potential unionizing efforts and NLRB actions and developing preventative strategies and education on union avoidance
  • Assisting in developing, executing, and following up on game plans associated with EOC survey, town halls, and labor activity
  • Provides region support to SSC in response to and/or resolution of EEOC, DOL, OFCCP and other labor and employment claims
  • Acting as a resource to assist Medical Health Management, Legal, and Asset Protection with respect to investigations and other associate relations matters
  • Assists Associate Services in managing, resolving and reporting workplace violence matters

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be eighteen years of age
  • Must pass the Drug Test
  • Must pass the Background Check
  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable EDUCATION REQUIRED
    The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent. YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 6
    PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced degree in law, employee relations, or human resources
  • Multi-site (50+ locations) and experience with 10,000 associates
  • 8 years experience in employment law, employee relations or human resources is preferred
  • PHR or SPHR or equivalent certification
